Manual Handling Instructor Training

If you are looking for a reputable company who can offer you a manual handling instructor training course, look no further than Guardian Safety. With a range of first-class courses and a wealth of experience within the training industry, we have assisted a number of both employers and employees to excel in all things health and safety, fire safety, food safety and manual handling. To find out more, why not give us a call?

Our manual handling instructor training course has been designed to provide a thorough understanding of manual handling, ideal for Health and Safety Practitioners and trainers who are looking to deliver manual handling training themselves or would like to deliver in-house programs. Everyone who participates in our course should ideally have a reasonable level of fitness and flexibility, as people with any back, hip or knee injuries may find the conditions being aggravated during the course. All staff that undertake tasks such as lifting, carrying, pulling or pushing within their role must be given training in the safe moving of loads, to comply with Part 4 Chapter 2 of the General Application Regulation 2007, Manual Handling of Loads

Our 5-day course is conducted over two weeks, this prepares you for the three-part assessment that is needed to pass, to qualify for the award at the end of the course. Our in-depth manual handling instructor training course covers all aspects of the legislation, we also discuss the anatomy and physiology of the spine, we will also show you how to perform risk assessments and how to avoid back injuries. We can also offer our participants with further information on different training techniques, presentation skills and information on how to conduct assessments so you can find something that suits you.

Alongside our manual handling instructor training course, we also offer an incredible refresher course. Even though the QQI Certificates do not expire, we recommend that all instructors take part in a refresher course every 5 years, but it would be more ideal for trainers to update their skills on a more frequent basis to ensure they know the newest practices. During the course, we look to review the risk assessment process, new equipment and look further into lifting techniques.
