Fire Warden Training Course

Our Fire Warden Training Course has been designed to meet the requirements of both the 1981 Fire services act and regulation 9 of the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work act 2005.

How is the training deliverd

Participants can select their preferred attendance method, either participating online through Zoom or attending in person

Training Courses can also be delivered privately at your premises at any time.

Aim

The aim of this Fire Warden course is to give participants the skills and confidence, to act safely in the event of an emergency fire situation, including selecting and using the correct fire extinguisher. The course is also designed to train staff in your fire safety procedures.

Fire Warden Training Course Objectives

On completion of the Fire Warden Training Course, participants will be able to;

  • List their duties as fire wardens
  • Describe the chemistry of fire
  • Identify fire hazards in the workplace
  • Assist in the management of evacuation procedures and drills
  • Select and use the appropriate fire fighting equipment to deal with an undeveloped fire

Fire Warden Training Course Content

    • The mechanics of fire, smoke, and dangerous gases.
    • Fire extinguishers, hose reel equipment, and fire suppressants.
    • Incidents involving flammable liquids and gases.
    • Storage of flammable liquids and gases.
    • Common fire safety features.
    • Elements of compartmentation.
    • Means of escape.
    • Duties of the fire marshal in emergency, pre-emergency, and post-emergency situations.
    • Hazard spotting and elimination of bad practices.
    • Legislation.
    • Methods of Evacuation 

Please Note: If you are attending the course via Zoom there will be no practical element to the course (as in you will not discharge a fire extinguisher) The instructor will demonstrate the correct use of discharging/using. This may shorten the course by 30 minutes to an hour.

Certification

On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certificate titled “Fire Warden Training” which will be awarded by Guardian Safety. This Cert will be valid for 3 years.

We issue a digital certification & all certificates are kept on file and can be resent if misplaced.

Prerequisets

All participants must be fluent in English.

If you have opted to attend online via Zoom you will need a PC, Laptop, Smartphone, etc. with audio/video & Internet. Ensure a browser is running correctly (Google Chrome, firefox, etc) or the Zoom Application is installed.

If you have opted to attend in person, registration will begin 15 minutes prior to the start time of the course.

Number of Participants Per Course

The maximum number of users per course is 12.

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at Employees designated in the employer’s Safety Statement emergency plans to act as Fire Warden / Marshals.
