Paediatric First Aid Training Course

This Half Day Paediatric First Aid Training Course sets out to train participants on life-saving skills in relation to children generally up to the age of 13. This course is designed to give participants, who have no previous experience of first aid with children, the required skills to deal with first aid or medical emergency before professional help arrives.

This course is delivered privately at your premises or on-site, at our premises, as it is face-to-face training

Aim

The aim of this Paediatric First Aid Course is to equip Participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to use life-saving first aid skills in relation to children generally up to the age of 13

Learners will also be trained in the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and the action to take in the event of a person choking.

Course Content

This course runs for half a day. Learners will gain insight into the following topics:

  • Asthma
  • Allergies/Allergic reactions
  • Infant and Child Choking
  • Infant and Child CPR
  • High temperature
  • Bleeding & Wounds
  • Broken bones & Fractures
  • Poisoning
  • Bites & Stings
  • Seizures
  • Q & A at end

Training Methodology 

Our training includes both practical and interactive learning, giving all participants the confidence and ability to put theory into practice and to cope with real-life situations that might arise in the workplace, at home, or in the community. Our Paediatric First Aid Training Course Instructors have years of real-life practical experience in emergency care services and tutoring all levels of learners for all types of backgrounds.

Assessment

This is a highly interactive course with an emphasis on practice and demonstration. Assessment is by written test and practical skills exam.

Guardian Safety Trainers

Guardian Safety is a Paediatric First Aid registered training centre and all trainers are fully qualified in Paediatric First Aid, having achieved a Paediatric First Aid Qualification. All trainers hold a minimum of Train the Trainer qualification and are fully qualified safety practitioners holding a minimum of a Diploma Occupational Health and safety.

Certification

On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certificate titled “Paediatric First Aid Training Course” which will be awarded by Guardian Safety. This Cert will be valid for 2 years.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Number of Participants Per Course

The maximum number of users per course is 10.

Who Should Attend

The Paediatric First Aid Training Course is designed for parents, registered childminders and caregivers, along with school teachers – including staff involved in crèche, nursery and Montessori facilities, as well as those involved in junior and primary education.
