Pregnancy Risk Assessments

Guardian Safety Pregnancy Risk Assessments

Once an employee informs the employer in writing that they are pregnant or breast feeding, a Pregnant Employees Risk Assessment must be carried out to comply with The Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Pregnant Employee etc.) Regulations 2005 and the Maternity Protection (Amendment) Act 2004.

The employer is under an obligation to do all that is reasonable to remove or prevent exposure to any significant risk to the employee or the child, such as noise, vibration, excessive heat, handling of loads and movement and postures which are abrupt and give rise to excessive fatigue.

Guardian Safety can train you to carry out these Risk Assessments or carry them out on your behalf, as all pregnancies differ and may have complications, it may be necessary to revisit the risk assessment as the pregnancy progresses.
