It is a legal requirement that all staff working with Food receive training commensurate with their level of involvement and responsibility. This Basic Food Safety course complies with the requirements as set out by the Food Safety Authority Ireland “Food Safety Training Level 1. 

Basic Food Safety Training Course Next Course Dates: 31st of March

Course Duration: 3 Hours

Times: 9.30am – 12.00pm

Venue: C1 Centre Point, Business Park, Dublin 12                                                                        

The training course can also be delivered at your premises at any time.

Basic Food Safety Training Course Objectives

To introduce employees to the Basics of Food Safety before they start to handle food and introduce them to good hygiene practices.

Guardian Safety Trainers

Guardian Safety is a FETAC registered training provider and all our trainers hold Formal Food Safety Qualifications. All course instructors hold ‘Train the Trainer’ Certification.

Who Should Attend

All new employees who may be involved in the Food sector with less than one month experience. This course is relevant to all those involved in any aspect of food handling, through the supply chain, retail, and food preparation. It is ideal also for those working in professional kitchens, canteens, nursing homes, hospitals, delicatessens as well as food producers.


Theory test

Refresher Training & Certification Validity Period

It is recommended that all training be refreshed at intervals of not greater than three years, new employees remaining in the Food Sector are expected to advance to Level 2 Primary Food Safety. 

Additional Information

DVD and laptop/projector presentation are used. Notes on Basic Food Safety are provided to each participant.

Basic Food Safety Certification

A Guardian Safety ‘Basic Food Safety’ Certificate is awarded to participants on course completion.
