Abrasive Wheels Training Online course is aimed at anyone who uses, selects or mounts abrasive wheels as part of their work and is also intended for employers.
There are a wide range of tools and processes that use abrasive wheels and ensuring these are used correctly and safely is of paramount importance. Applications range from hand grinding to disc cutting. They can be used at all stages of a work process, for making preliminary cuts and scores in materials, or for fine polishing and finishing.Different wheels will have different properties and characteristics suitable for particular tasks. They also have different weaknesses and can pose different risks and hazards in handling and use. For this reason, it’s important that you always select the right abrasive wheel for the job and use it with the right machinery.
This Abrasive Wheels Training Online covers regulations, standards and how to dentify the hazards working with abrasive wheels, it explains how to select the correct wheel for the job and how to inspect & test abrasive wheels. The course goes in dept into the safey of working with abrasive wheels including guarding of grinding and cutting operations and how to safelty dress and True an abrasive wheel. You will learns all about the functions of components, flanges, blotters etc and understand the differences between grinding and cutting operations.
On completion of the Abrasive Wheels Training Online learners will understand how to safely store and identify abrasive wheels, select the appropriate wheel for specific use. You will be able to inspect and recognise damaged wheels and will be able to mount an abrasive wheel. You will also understand the hazards and risks when using abrasive wheels
Legislation: While the course focuses on UK Stats and Legislation, the requirements are all based on European directives and European Norms and are applicable throughout Europe. EN12413 is the European norm which set down the Legal requiremetns of Abrasive Wheels.
