How is the training deliverd

This is a 2 day course

Participants can select their preferred attendance method, either participating online through Zoom or attending in person

Training Courses can also be delivered privately at your premises at any time.

Aim

The aim of this Fire Warden Instructor Training course is to teach participants to Deliver Fire Safety and Fire Warden Courses with the confidence and skills to meet the requirements of both the ‘’1981 Fire Service Act’’ and ‘’Regulation 9 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005’’.

Fire Warden Instructor Training Course Content

    • Day One – Fire Safety/Science
      • Legislation
      • Statistics
      • Fire Science,
      • Development the fire, smoke, and small travel
      • Fire prevention
      • Classes of fire
      • The selection and use of fire extinguishers
      • Participants will then be trained in the use of extinguishers 

    Day Two – Fire Warden & Fire Manager

        • Pre–fire/fire/post-fire duties of the Fire Warden
        • Understanding people’s behavior in relation to fire
        • Emergency plans and evacuation procedures
        • Emergency drills
        • Emergency lights (overview of general maintenance requirements)
        • Fire extinguishers (overview of general maintenance requirements & the functions)
        • Fire alarms (overview of general maintenance requirements)
        • Passive fire protection
        • Active fire protection
        • Running a Fire Warden Course

    Support Materials

    On the first day of the course, all learners will receive all the training materials they will require to start training others. 

    • PowerPoint Presentation for your use,
    • HSA guidelines documents,
    • Fire Safety Videos,
    • Sample Certification,
    • Assessments & Administration Documentation such as exams, sign in sheets and appraisals
    • Useful Links.
    • Ongoing support will be provided to learners after course completion vis live access to your trainer via our CRM.
    • To help build your confidence and competence you can come back to us to sit and view a live session delivered by one of our trainers

    We issue a digital certification & all certificates are kept on file and can be resent if misplaced.

    Refresher training is recommended at intervals of not greater than 5 years

    Certification

    On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certificate titled “Fire Warden Instructor Training” which will be awarded by Guardian Safety. This Cert will be valid for 5 years.

    We issue a digital certification & all certificates are kept on file and can be resent if misplaced.

    Refresher training is recommended at intervals of not greater than 5 years

    Prerequisets

    All participants must be fluent in English.

    If you have opted to attend online via Zoom you will need a PC, Laptop, Smartphone, etc. with audio/video & Internet. Ensure a browser is running correctly (Google Chrome, firefox, etc) or the Zoom Application is installed.

    If you have opted to attend in person, registration will begin 15 minutes prior to the start time of the course.

    Number of Participants Per Course

    The maximum number of users per course is 12.

    This course is designed for those who want to deliver Fire Safety and/or Fire Warden to employees, customers, and management. Those who wish to meet their legal responsibilities for training under Health and Safety legislation and industry-specific codes of practice. 

    The course is specially designed for those who wish to become Fire Warden Instructors and/or for the person in charge.
