The requirement for Training: It is a legal requirement that staff working with Food receive training commensurate with their level of involvement and responsibility. This Primary Food Safety Hygiene training course complies with the requirements as set out by the Food Safety Authority Ireland Level 2.

Guardian Safety Trainers: Guardian Safety is a FETAC registered training provider and all our trainers hold Formal Food Safety Qualifications. All course instructors hold ‘Train the Trainer’ Certification.

Who Should Attend: This course is intended for those who have responsibility for managing food safety or who are involved in food preparation, service, handling and storage, who have already completed Basic Food Safety.  It is ideal also for those working in professional kitchens, canteens, nursing homes, hospitals, delicatessens as well as food producers. 

Assessment: Short Theory test

Refresher Training & Certification Validity Period: It is recommended that all training is refreshed at intervals not greater than 3 years.

Additional Information: DVD and laptop/projector presentation are used. Notes on Primary Food Safety Hygiene are provided to each participant. 

Primary Food Safety Hygiene Training Course Certification: Guardian Safety ‘Primary Food Safety’ Certificate is awarded to participants on successful course completion by the Environmental Health Officers’ Association.
